Quod ignotum erat

Latin at the top reads...."Science makes the unkown known" (lit"What unknown was, science makes to be known")
Latin at the bottom reads...."logical proof"

The model holds a light- scientific illumination cutting through the darkness of ignorance.
To the left of the picture hangs a sextant a scientific instrument used for navigation. [link]
The model has wings because science can help us soar to the hights of inspiration and endevour unreached and undiscovered before.
Conversly there are chains in the bottom half of the picture showing that science is tied to the earth and the physical rather than spiritual side of things.
Joining the upper and lower parts of the picture is the decoder wheel, symbolising the idea that the world is understandable if only you have the right knowlage.

This piece has taken me a lot longer than I was expecting to complete. All in all I think I have spent 25ish hours on it.
